About us and how we assess
We review food supplements sold direct to consumers. We work outwards from the label, not inwards from the marketing, and we are clear about how we make money.

Our method
A review on this site always follows the same five steps, in this order:
- We read the declared label and note every active, the format and the stated dosage. If the product uses a proprietary blend and does not publish individual amounts, we say so prominently, because it conditions everything else.
- We compare each ingredient against the amounts used in human studies. Not to claim the product works, but to establish whether it is even plausible that it reaches a meaningful dose in the format it sells.
- We check the regulatory position in the UK and the EU: whether the ingredient has authorised health claims, sits on the pending list, or is under review or restriction in any member state.
- We read public reviews on independent platforms, paying attention to the distribution of scores and the specific reasons behind negatives, not only the average.
- We go through the commercial terms: final price, shipping, timescales, guarantee and the returns process. In direct online sales, this is where most of the real problems show up.
What we do not do
We do not publish before-and-after photos. We do not invent testimonials or present the manufacturer’s as our own. We do not promise weight-loss figures or timeframes, because no food supplement can legally support that promise in the UK or the EU. And we neither buy nor sell reviews.
How we make money
Through affiliate links. When we suggest checking a price at a product’s official store, that link is labelled as an affiliate link and may earn us a commission if you go on to buy. The price you pay is exactly the same as if you had reached the store on your own.
What this does not change: we do not accept payment from manufacturers to publish a review, to remove criticism or to raise a score. No brand reviewed has seen a text before publication. The best check on this is to read the reviews themselves: we devote entire sections to warning about the checkout of products whose links are also affiliate links. A site optimising purely for commission would not write those sections.
Corrections
Prices, formulations and terms of sale change without notice. Every review carries the date its sources were last checked. If you spot an outdated figure or an error, write to us and we will correct it, noting the date of the correction.
